Growing up in Grimshaw, a small town in Northern Alberta, I developed a strong appreciation for community and meaningful connections early on. When I moved to Calgary in pursuit of new opportunities and experiences, it was exciting — but also a big adjustment.
The city’s fast pace, combined with unfamiliar faces, can feel overwhelming at times. I was fortunate to meet people who took the time to welcome me and help me feel at home. Their kindness reminded me of the close-knit community values I was raised with, where people look out for one another.
